BEACH MATCH RULES

JUNIORS AND MEMBERS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE

Juniors may fish beach competitions provided they are accompanied by a designated club member.

Any member under 18 years of age can fish for club trophies but cannot receive prize money or partake in any sweepstakes.

At all times the designated member is responsible for the junior members safety and behaviour.

PAYMENT

Payment of all fees and levies must be made prior to start of match.

WALKING OFF

In the event of a draw taking place for places, members must leave meeting point in order of draw and must not overtake other members who have drawn a lower number.

Members may move their fishing location if they wish once all anglers have reached their desired location.

FISHING THE MATCH

A reasonable distance must be kept between anglers.
In the event of a dispute the decision of the Match Secretary is final.

Matches will start and finish at an agreed time with a maximum length of 6 hrs.
Matched are normally 2 rods with a maximum of 3 hooks per rod.
Assistance can only be given in landing fish.
One rod to be withdrawn 5 mins before the end of match.

Club scales will be distributed amongst members to weigh sizeable fish.
The club employ a weight to length system with measures and conversion cards supplied for fish over 18cm and under 44cm. Fish under 18 cm are awarded 1 ounze and fish over 44cm must be weighed. Further information about the weight to length is contained on the conversion cards and is to be regarded as part of these rules.
Should a fish over 44cm on being weighed actually weigh less than the weight for a 44cm fish on the conversion card then the larger weight applies.

Members are responsible for recording fish weight and length on the club supplied score cards. The card countersigned by another member before next cast is retrieved. Dittos may only be used for the fish species.
Members wishing to fish with the club but outside the match rules must notify the Match Secretary prior to the start of the match and they will not be eligible for any prize money, points or recorded weight.

WINNER OF THE MATCH AND AWARD OF POINTS

The winner of the match is the member with the heaviest weight and is awarded 10 points towards the points trophy, second place is awarded 9 points and so on down to 1 point for 10th place.
An additional point is awarded to each member who catches a fish and a further point is given for attending the match for the full period.
The member who catches the biggest fish is awarded one bonus point, should the biggest fish be shared by more than one member then the bonus point is not awarded.
