MALDON SEA ANGLING CLUB is a small club with approximately 40 members it is based in Maldon in Essex on the river Blackwater. We organise regular boat and beach trips usually one beach and one boat trip per month plus three mid-week boat trips each year.
Most of the boat bookings are from local ports with West Mersea, Bradwell and Walton on the Naze all being used we also have a few bookings to further afield with Dover and Shoreham on the 2015 calender. Beach matches are organised on beaches and piers from Suffolk through Essex and Kent to as far as Sussex.
The sea angling around the Essex coast can be exceptional especially from charter boats with all the local boats less than an hours run from the Thames estuary with Cod and Whiting fishing in the Autumn through to Spring and Rays, Bass, Smoothound not forgeting the Tope fishing in the summer. Beach fishing can also be productive with Clacton and Walton piers regularily producing codling in the winter and Thornback Rays in the summer also since the sea defence work has been completed Holland on Sea is producing some impressive catches.
The MALDON SEA ANGLING CLUB meet every Friday night from 7pm at the White Horse Mundon just outside Maldon. This is not a formal meeting just a get together have a chat and a beer and to pay for trips and organise transport etc. Anyone interested in sea fishing around Maldon should call in and meet us.
